Sales Engineer

  • Manage the promotion and sale of the company’s triplex and quadraplex mud pumps to clients in the oil and gas drilling industry.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with various oil and gas drilling contractors and other business partners and convince new prospects to do business with the company.
  • Prepare and give presentations and technical demonstrations of the company’s mud pump products to include differences in the electrical systems used in the 1000, 1300, and 1600 horsepower triplex models and in the self-powered, hydraulically unitized quadraplex model.
  • Provide detailed and accurate descriptions of the pumps’ piston/plunger systems and ancillary equipment including lubrication systems, power systems, and electrical motors.
  • Visit client drilling rigs to assess current equipment and drilling requirements and consult with technical and engineering teams on how various mud pump models, solutions, and Ideco pump parts could improve drilling productivity and efficiency.
  • Create customized solutions for prospective customers using AutoCAD, write and present solution proposals, and negotiate sales and service contracts.
  • Coordinate the installation of mud pumps and other machinery and demonstrate newly installed pumps to users.
  • Provide technical support by phone and in person and resolve issues with the mud pumps’ electrical systems including with relays, breaker control schemes, and substation apparatuses.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure the quality and continued performance of pumps, perform regular maintenance, and make adjustments to lower costs and improve functionality.
  • Work with sales teams and management to establish sales goals and determine optimal pricing for mud pump products and parts.
  • Stay abreast of the latest technological advances and industry trends in the oil and gas drilling industry.
  • Supervise 3 Field Service Technicians
Requirements: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and one year of experience in the job offered or a related position. Equivalent foreign degrees are accepted. The position requires skills and knowledge in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and ancillary equipment required to operate pumps including lubrication systems, power systems, and electrical motors (AC motor, DC motor, etc.). The position requires some travel - 50% - 79% of work time, totaling 26-41 weeks per year.
